Delhi completes verification of VIP voters, names to be added to electoral roll

The Election Commission of India announced that the verification process for voters classified as “very important persons” (VIP) in Delhi has been completed. Following the verification, the names of the verified individuals will be incorporated into the Delhi electoral roll in the upcoming update, ensuring their eligibility to vote in forthcoming elections. As part of the procedure, formal notices have been issued to the identified VIP voters, including former senior politician L.K. Advani, informing them of the inclusion and any required documentation. The commission said the update aims to maintain an accurate and up‑to‑date electoral roll, reflecting changes in the city’s demographic and political landscape.
