The cost of compressed natural gas (CNG) in Delhi has risen to ₹86.98 per kilogram, the latest increase announced by authorities.
The Delhi government has announced that the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) will now stand at ₹86.98 per kilogram, the highest level recorded in recent months. The new rate applies to all CNG dispensing stations across the national capital and is expected to take effect immediately.
CNG remains a primary fuel for auto‑rickshaws and many private vehicles in the city, and the hike is likely to increase commuting costs for a large segment of daily travelers. Officials cited rising procurement costs and fluctuations in natural gas markets as the main reasons behind the adjustment.
Transport unions and commuter groups have called for a review of the pricing mechanism, warning that higher fuel expenses could translate into increased fares for passengers. The government has said it will monitor the impact and consider relief measures if necessary.
