Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was seen taking a selfie beside the sprawling garbage mound at Okhla, a site that has become symbolic of the capital's mounting solid‑waste problem. The photograph, shared on social media, shows the leader standing next to the towering heap, captioned as her "last selfie" at the location.
The image quickly circulated online, prompting discussions about the city's waste‑disposal infrastructure and the visibility of such sites in public spaces. Environmental groups and citizens alike used the moment to call for accelerated clean‑up drives and more sustainable waste‑handling policies.
Delhi authorities have reiterated their commitment to tackling the Okhla dump issue, citing ongoing initiatives to relocate waste processing and improve segregation at source. The CM's selfie, while informal, has added a human dimension to the ongoing debate over urban sanitation in the national capital.
