A decision is expected today to temporarily suspend the ongoing protest by sugarcane farmers, according to Udayavani.
The protest by sugarcane farmers, which has been marching across several districts, is slated for a temporary suspension pending a decision expected today.
Farmers have been demanding better prices for their produce and additional support from the government. The movement has drawn attention to the challenges faced by the sugarcane sector.
If the authorities approve the suspension, the protest will pause until further notice, with plans to engage in dialogue and address the farmers' concerns.
