More than 55 people have died and about 800 tourists are missing after severe flooding in Nepal, with 133 Indian nationals among those affected.
Heavy monsoon rains have triggered flash floods across several districts of Nepal, leaving a death toll that has risen above 55. The inundation has swept away homes, roads and bridges, creating a humanitarian crisis in the affected valleys.
The disaster has also stranded a large number of visitors; authorities estimate that roughly 800 tourists are unaccounted for. Rescue teams, including Nepalese army units and local volunteers, are conducting search operations while hospitals treat the injured.
