DCM Pravati Parida Launches Khandagiri-Udayagiri Light‑Sound Show on Odisha Heritage

District Collector Pravati Parida presided over the inauguration of a light‑and‑sound presentation at the historic Khandagiri‑Udayagiri complex near Bhubaneswar. The program uses synchronized lighting, music and narration to depict the archaeological and religious significance of the twin rock‑cut sites, which date back to the 2nd century BCE.
The authorities said the show is intended to make the heritage site more accessible to visitors and to boost cultural tourism in the region. Organisers have scheduled multiple daily performances, allowing tourists to experience the story of ancient Jain monks and early Indian architecture in a modern format.
Local officials highlighted that the initiative aligns with Odisha’s broader efforts to promote its rich historical assets while generating economic opportunities for nearby communities.
