Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo officially opened the newly constructed 33/11 kV substation operated by TPWODL in Bargarh, Odisha, marking a significant step in the region’s power infrastructure.
The new 33/11 kV substation, built by the Telangana Power Works and Odisha Development Limited (TPWODL), was officially inaugurated on Thursday by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. The ceremony was attended by senior state officials and local leaders, underscoring the project’s importance for Bargarh’s power supply.
The substation is designed to step down high‑voltage transmission lines to distribution level, improving reliability and reducing losses in the local grid. With a capacity of 33 megavolt‑amps, it will support the growing demand for electricity in the district.
Officials said the facility will enable better integration of renewable energy sources and support future expansion plans for the region’s power network. The project is part of Odisha’s broader initiative to upgrade electrical infrastructure across rural and semi‑urban areas.
