On Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversary, Dausa organized a dawn procession, Ramdhuni recitation and cultural shows, highlighted by four religious leaders urging love and humanity.
Dausa in Rajasthan marked both Gandhi Jayanti and the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri with a series of public events on October 2. Local authorities, community groups and cultural organisations coordinated a dawn procession that began early in the morning, drawing residents from across the town.
The programme featured a traditional Ramdhuni chanting session followed by a slate of cultural performances that recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of truth and non‑violence and Shastri’s iconic slogan “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan”. Organisers used the platform to reinforce the relevance of these historic messages in today’s socio‑economic context.
Four senior religious leaders took the stage to deliver brief speeches. While no political figures were quoted, each speaker emphasized universal values of love, humanity and communal harmony, urging citizens to embody the spirit of both leaders in everyday life.
The events concluded with a collective pledge by participants to uphold the ideals of peace and self‑reliance, reflecting a rare moment of unity in the town’s multicultural fabric.
