A newly formed cyclonic storm is expected to make landfall along the coast of Andhra Pradesh on November 2, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.

A cyclonic storm, classified as a Category 1 system, has been tracking westward along the Bay of Bengal and is projected to make landfall on the eastern coast of India on November 2.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cyclone alert for coastal districts in Andhra Pradesh, warning of strong winds, heavy rainfall and potential storm surges.

State authorities have activated emergency response plans, mobilised coastal defence teams and set up evacuation centres in vulnerable areas.

Residents in low‑lying regions are urged to stay indoors, secure loose objects and follow instructions from local officials to minimise damage.
