Cyclone Arnab is expected to bring heavy rainfall to eastern Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, with orange alerts issued for Mauganj, Sidhi and Singrauli, while Bhopal and Gwalior may see light showers and thunderstorms.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that Cyclone Arnab, moving westward across central India, will affect Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. The system is expected to intensify as it approaches the state's eastern belt, bringing widespread precipitation.

An orange‑level rain alert has been issued for three districts – Mauganj, Sidhi and Singrauli – indicating the likelihood of very heavy rainfall. Residents in these areas have been advised to stay alert, avoid non‑essential travel and secure property against possible waterlogging.

In addition to the three districts, the IMD forecasts light rain and occasional thunderstorms in major urban centres such as Bhopal and Gwalior. While the intensity is expected to be lower, authorities have cautioned commuters about reduced visibility and slippery roads.

The department has urged the public to monitor updates on official channels and to cooperate with local disaster management teams. Preparations, including pre‑positioning of relief kits and activation of emergency response units, are underway across the state.

Overall, the cyclone is set to alter the weather pattern in Madhya Pradesh for the day, with the heaviest impact confined to the eastern districts under the orange alert.
