The Cuban ambassador to India, Mr. Juan Carlos Rodríguez, landed in Agartala on Tuesday, marking the first time a Cuban envoy has visited the northeastern state of Tripura.
He is scheduled to attend two rallies—one in Sabroom, a coastal town in South Tripura, and another in the state capital Agartala—where local leaders will discuss bilateral cooperation and cultural exchanges.
Tripura’s Chief Minister, Biplab Kumar Deb, welcomed the ambassador and highlighted the importance of expanding trade and educational ties with Cuba.
The visit comes amid a broader diplomatic outreach by India, which has been strengthening ties with Latin American countries, including Cuba, through trade agreements and cultural programs.
