The Central Reserve Police Force has moved 20 additional companies from West Bengal to Delhi to support security amid protests by the Chief Justice of India.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has dispatched 20 additional companies from West Bengal to Delhi in response to the growing protests by the Chief Justice of India (CJP). The deployment, announced early this week, aims to bolster the security presence in the capital as tensions rise over the CJP’s demands.
CRPF companies, typically comprising 200 to 300 personnel each, were moved to key locations across Delhi, including the Parliament area and the Supreme Court premises. The move is part of a broader strategy to support the Delhi Police and ensure that the protests remain peaceful.
So far, there have been no reports of violence or clashes involving the CRPF units. Officials say the additional forces will provide a deterrent against potential unrest and help maintain public order during the ongoing demonstrations.
