Crescent City Grade School exceeded its Walk‑A‑Thon fundraising goal during a recent event in Goa, raising more than the target amount for the school’s upcoming projects.
Crescent City Grade School in Goa announced today that it has surpassed its Walk‑A‑Thon fundraising target during the event held earlier this month. The school’s students, teachers and parents participated in a walking challenge that aimed to raise funds for new classroom equipment and extracurricular activities.
According to school officials, the event drew more participants than expected, and the total amount raised exceeded the initial goal by a significant margin. The funds will be allocated to upgrade science labs, purchase new sports gear, and support the school’s after‑school programs.
The Walk‑A‑Thon, organized by the school’s parent‑teacher association, was open to all students from kindergarten to eighth grade. Participants were encouraged to walk a set distance each day and collect sponsorships from friends and family.
School headmistress Ms. Anjali Deshmukh praised the community’s enthusiasm, stating that the success reflects the strong partnership between the school and its stakeholders.
The school plans to use the surplus to launch a new scholarship scheme for meritorious students in the coming academic year.
