Congress stages bike rally in Rishikesh demanding justice for resort murder

The Indian National Congress held a bike rally in Rishikesh on Saturday, urging authorities to expedite the investigation into a murder that occurred at a local resort. Party workers and supporters gathered at the banks of the Ganga, riding motorcycles while chanting slogans for justice.
The rally was specifically aimed at drawing attention to the unresolved homicide, which has remained a point of public concern since the victim was found dead in a resort room. Congress leaders highlighted the need for transparent police action and called for swift legal proceedings.
Participants rode in a coordinated procession through the city’s main thoroughfares, displaying placards that read "Justice for the Victim" and "Fast Track Investigation". Police were present to manage traffic and maintain order, but no arrests or confrontations were reported.
The protest follows a series of smaller demonstrations by local residents and human‑rights groups demanding accountability. While officials have not yet issued a formal response, the rally underscores the political pressure mounting on law‑enforcement agencies to resolve the case.
The Congress rally adds to the growing discourse on safety and law‑and‑order issues in Uttarakhand, with the party positioning itself as a vocal advocate for victims' families.
