The Patrapur-Garhi municipal council, comprising 25 seats, has seen a shift in power dynamics following the recent elections. The Congress party secured 12 seats on its own. Two independent candidates, who had contested separately, chose to support Congress, giving the party a combined strength of 14 seats. This majority positions Congress to elect the council chairman in the upcoming vote scheduled for September 21. The remaining seats are divided among the Bharatiya Janata Party and other smaller parties, but none can challenge Congress’s majority without additional support.
