On the second day of the Punjab Legislative Assembly session, Congress members staged a protest outside the building, citing the Jhoota murder case and warning of possible unrest.
The Punjab Legislative Assembly convened for its second day on Tuesday, and opposition members of the Indian National Congress gathered outside the chamber to voice dissent against the ruling government. The protest was centered on the high‑profile Jhoota murder case, which the party claims has been mishandled by authorities.
Congress leaders addressed a crowd of supporters, demanding a transparent investigation and urging the administration to take swift action. They warned that failure to address the issue could lead to public unrest in the region.
Security forces were deployed around the assembly complex as a precaution, but no clashes were reported. The session proceeded with the opposition continuing to raise the matter during legislative debates.
The demonstration reflects growing political tension in Punjab as the state grapples with law‑and‑order challenges ahead of upcoming elections.
