Congress leader Byaling said Arunachal Pradesh should not be turned into a political arena and called for an independent inquiry into the Taksing border allegations, dismissing remarks made by Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Congress MP Byaling, speaking at a press conference in Itanagar, asserted that Arunachal Pradesh must not be used as a political battleground. He demanded an independent probe into recent allegations concerning the Taksing sector of the state’s border with China, saying the issue required an unbiased investigation.
The Taksing area, located in the Upper Subansiri district, has been the focus of reports alleging unauthorized incursions and infrastructure activity. Byaling said that any such activity should be examined by a neutral body to avoid partisan interpretations and to safeguard the interests of the local population.
Byaling also rejected comments made earlier by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, who had described the matter as a political distraction. The congress leader emphasized that the priority should be factual clarity rather than political point‑scoring, and urged the central government to appoint a credible commission to look into the claims.
