On Gandhi Jayanti, Congress leader Manoj Paliwal walked through Bhilwara with three symbolic monkeys, protesting alleged irregularities in party symbol allocation during the municipal elections.

Bhilwara, Rajasthan – On October 2, Congress activist Manoj Paliwal staged a foot march through the city carrying three symbolic monkeys. The protest was timed with Gandhi Jayanti and aimed at drawing attention to what he described as irregularities in the allocation of party symbols for the ongoing municipal elections.

Paliwal, a senior figure in the state Congress unit, said the alleged mishandling of symbol distribution threatened the fairness of the electoral process. By using the image of monkeys, he intended to highlight perceived absurdity and demand corrective action from the party leadership.

The march concluded outside the local Congress office, where Paliwal offered prayers for wisdom and urged party officials to ensure transparent symbol assignment before the election results are finalized.

Local authorities noted the demonstration was peaceful, with no reports of violence or arrests. The incident adds to a series of protests by opposition parties in Rajasthan over the conduct of the municipal polls.
