The Indian National Congress has unveiled a 'GenZ for Change' initiative in Rajasthan, aiming to mobilise young voters with AI workshops, career counselling, internships and legal aid before the upcoming local body polls.
New Delhi, Sept 1 (ANI) – The Indian National Congress announced a youth‑focused outreach program titled 'GenZ for Change' in Rajasthan, timed to coincide with the state's upcoming local body elections. The campaign seeks to build a state‑wide Gen‑Z committee that will serve as a bridge between the party and young voters across campuses and urban centres.
Organisers said the initiative will roll out a series of activities, including artificial‑intelligence workshops, career‑counselling sessions, short‑term internships and legal‑support services. These programs are designed to equip participants with skills and information while fostering political engagement among the 18‑35 age group.
Party officials highlighted that the move is intended to counter the perception that traditional politics overlooks younger demographics. By offering tangible benefits such as skill‑building and mentorship, the Congress hopes to cultivate a cadre of informed supporters who can influence voter turnout in the forthcoming panchayat and municipal elections.
The campaign will be coordinated from the state headquarters in Jaipur, with local units expected to organise events on college campuses and community centres over the next few weeks. No specific dates for the activities have been disclosed, but the party indicated that the rollout will intensify as the election schedule approaches.
Analysts note that similar youth‑targeted drives have become a feature of Indian electoral strategies, reflecting the growing political relevance of the country's digital‑native generation.
