The Indian National Congress organized a campaign in Bongaigaon, Assam, condemning the Chief Election Commissioner and announced its support for a nationwide protest scheduled in Delhi on November 1.
The Indian National Congress held a campaign in Bongaigaon, a town in Assam, to register its opposition to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). Party leaders addressed a gathering of supporters, voicing criticism of the CEC’s recent actions and decisions.
During the event, the Congress delegation reiterated its stance that the electoral machinery must remain impartial and transparent. The rally was positioned as part of a broader effort to mobilise public opinion ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
In addition to the Bongaigaon campaign, the party formally endorsed a protest slated for November 1 in Delhi. The Delhi demonstration is expected to bring together opposition groups demanding reforms in the election process, and the Congress statement signalled its readiness to participate in that coordinated action.
