The Congress party has charged the ruling BJP with tacitly accepting Chinese incursions along the Arunachal Pradesh border, as reported by India Today.
New Delhi: The Indian National Congress has publicly accused the Bharatiya Janata Party government of normalising repeated Chinese border transgressions in Arunachal Pradesh. The party’s statement, cited by India Today, claims that the ruling administration has failed to respond robustly to incursions along the disputed frontier, thereby emboldening Beijing.
Congress leaders argue that the perceived laxity undermines India’s territorial sovereignty and could encourage further violations in the strategically sensitive northeastern region. They called for a reassessment of the government’s border management policies and urged the defence establishment to adopt a firmer stance.
The BJP, which controls the centre and the state, has not issued a detailed rebuttal to the allegation as of now. The issue adds to the ongoing political discourse over India’s security posture on its contested borders with China.
