The Congress party has claimed that the Uttarakhand government gave an advantage worth ₹1.66 lakh crore to the Adani group in a recent power‑sector tender, a charge the state cabinet led by CM Pushkar Dhami has called baseless.

New Delhi – The Indian National Congress released a statement alleging that the Uttarakhand government favoured the Adani Group in a state power procurement tender, citing a figure of roughly ₹1.66 lakh crore as the alleged benefit. The party said the tender process was skewed to benefit the conglomerate, raising concerns about transparency and fairness.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, speaking on behalf of his cabinet, dismissed the allegations as unfounded. He asserted that all tender procedures followed statutory guidelines and that no preferential treatment was extended to any private entity, including Adani.

The claim has sparked a political debate in the state, with opposition leaders demanding a detailed audit of the tender documents. The government, however, has not announced any independent inquiry at this stage.

Both sides have urged the public and media to await factual evidence before drawing conclusions, while the tender’s outcome remains pending.
