The Congress party has accused Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's administration of allocating the prime George Everest Estate to private entities, calling for a probe.
New Delhi, November 4 (ET) – The Indian National Congress has lodged a formal complaint against the Uttarakhand government, alleging that the administration of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred the coveted George Everest Estate to private parties without due transparency.
In a statement released to the media, Congress leaders said the estate, regarded as a prime piece of land in the state, was handed over to commercial interests, bypassing established procedures. The party demanded an immediate inquiry by the state’s anti-corruption agencies and called for the matter to be discussed in the legislative assembly.
The Economic Times reported that the accusation comes amid growing scrutiny of land allocation practices in Uttarakhand. The Congress has urged the state government to provide details of the transaction and to ensure that public assets are not misused.
No response from the Dhami administration has been recorded as of the time of this report.
