In a recent Deccan Chronicle interview, comedian Ali praised the skill and work ethic of Telugu cinema artists while expressing criticism of certain Bollywood actresses.
Veteran comic actor Ali, known for his roles in Hindi films and television, spoke to the Deccan Chronicle about the comparative strengths of regional and mainstream cinema. He highlighted the professionalism, dedication and fresh energy he observes among Telugu film talent, describing them as a driving force behind the industry's recent successes.
Ali contrasted this with his view of certain Bollywood actresses, whom he said often prioritize glamour over substance. He suggested that the industry's focus on star image sometimes overshadows genuine acting skill, calling for a shift towards more performance‑oriented recognition.
The remarks, made during a candid interview, have sparked discussions on social media about the evolving dynamics between regional film industries and Bollywood. While some fans applauded his candidness, others urged a more balanced appreciation of talent across all Indian cinemas.
