Colt Gray, who pleaded guilty to the Apalachee High School shooting, is back in court today to await sentencing.

Colt Gray, the 20‑year‑old accused of the deadly shooting at Apalachee High School in Florida, appeared in the Tallahassee courthouse today after pleading guilty to multiple counts of murder and attempted murder.

The plea deal, reached in February, carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison. Gray’s attorneys said the plea was part of a negotiated agreement that also includes a provision for parole eligibility after 30 years.

During the hearing, the judge reviewed the plea agreement and confirmed that sentencing will take place on March 15. Gray’s family and the victims’ families were present in the courtroom.

The shooting, which occurred in February 2023, left six people dead and several others injured. The case has drawn national attention to school safety and gun‑control debates.

Gray’s return to court marks a pivotal moment in the legal process, as the judge prepares to impose a sentence that could set a precedent for future school‑shooting cases.
