Haryana’s property tax will be calculated using collector rates and a floor factor, as explained by the state government.
The Haryana government has clarified that property tax will be determined by applying collector rates to the assessed value of a property and multiplying by a floor factor based on the number of floors.
Under the new guidelines, each property is assigned a collector rate that reflects its use and location. The floor factor, which varies with the building’s height, is then applied to the rate to arrive at the final tax amount.
For example, a residential building with two floors would have a floor factor of 1.5. If the collector rate for that property type is 2 %, the tax would be calculated as 2 % of the assessed value multiplied by 1.5.
The state has issued a detailed circular outlining the rates and factors, and the changes are effective from the beginning of the next fiscal year. Property owners are advised to review their assessments to ensure accurate payments.
