Coimbatore Undertrial Escapes Again, Raising Security Concerns

An undertrial was reported missing from the Coimbatore police station on Tuesday, marking the second escape of a detainee from the same facility this year. Police say the individual was being held on charges of theft and was last seen leaving the compound during a routine transfer. The state police have launched a manhunt and have increased patrols in the area. Chief Minister T. N. Palaniswami described the series of jailbreaks as a “never‑ending TV serial,” urging the public to cooperate with authorities to prevent further incidents.
