The cost of compressed natural gas (CNG) in the Delhi-NCR region has been raised by Rs 3.89 per kilogram, according to the latest official notification.

The government agency responsible for fuel pricing announced a uniform increase of Rs 3.89 per kilogram in the price of compressed natural gas across the Delhi-NCR region. The hike applies to all CNG dispensing stations operating in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon and surrounding areas.

Commuters who rely on CNG‑powered vehicles, such as auto‑rickshaws, taxis and private cars, will see a marginal rise in daily operating costs. Industry analysts note that while the increase is modest, it adds to the cumulative pressure on transport expenses amid rising fuel prices nationwide.

The authorities have not disclosed a detailed breakdown of the factors behind the adjustment, but the move aligns with the periodic review mechanism that links CNG rates to international crude oil trends and domestic tax structures. The new tariff is expected to take effect from the next billing cycle.

Transport unions have called for a review of the hike, urging the government to consider subsidies for low‑income commuters. Meanwhile, CNG station owners are preparing to update price boards and inform customers of the revised rates.
