Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav made a ground visit to the flood‑stricken parts of Chitrakoot on Sunday. He navigated through water‑logged streets and deep mud, reaching the most affected villages on foot.
During the walk, the CM stopped at several households to assess damage, listen to residents' concerns, and reassure them of government support. He also visited a temporary relief shelter where food packets, dry rations and basic medical kits were handed out to displaced families.
Speaking at the shelter, Yadav emphasized that the state administration is actively coordinating rescue operations and that additional resources will be mobilised to restore normalcy. He urged citizens to cooperate with relief teams and stay alert to weather updates.
The visit comes as heavy rains continue to swell rivers across central India, prompting authorities to issue flood warnings for several districts in Madhya Pradesh.
