Following the death of a police officer during an illegal liquor seizure in Devasa, Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has instructed all district collectors and SPs to take stringent measures.

A police officer lost his life while attempting to seize illegal liquor in the town of Devasa, Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred during a routine raid aimed at curbing the circulation of illicit alcohol, which has been a growing concern across the state.

In response, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav addressed the media, emphasizing that any lapse leading to such tragedies would be met with firm accountability. He directed every district collector and senior police officer (SP) to intensify monitoring of liquor supply chains and to ensure that enforcement teams are adequately equipped and trained.

The CM also ordered a swift inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the officer's death, urging the state’s law‑enforcement agencies to identify any procedural gaps. He warned that officials found negligent would face disciplinary action, underscoring the government's zero‑tolerance stance on illegal liquor operations.

State authorities have pledged to increase patrols in known hotspots and to collaborate with local administrations to dismantle illicit distilleries. The move aims to restore public confidence and deter future incidents that endanger both officials and citizens.

The directive reflects a broader effort by the Madhya Pradesh government to tighten control over the illegal liquor trade, which has been linked to health hazards and loss of life in recent years.
