Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwan Singh Mann will distribute the third tranche of the Mawan‑Dhiyan Satkar scheme to women in Goindwal Sahib today, covering a total benefit of ₹36 lakh.
Punjab's chief minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, arrived in Goindwal Sahib on Tuesday to hand over the third instalment of the state‑run Mawan‑Dhiyan Satkar Yojana. The ceremony was attended by local officials and a group of women beneficiaries who will receive the cash assistance today.
The scheme, launched in 2022, aims to honour mothers and daughters by providing a one‑time financial grant to married women and their families. Under the programme, eligible women receive a lump‑sum amount that is intended to support household expenses and promote gender equity.
The third tranche, announced by the state government, will disburse a total of ₹36 lakh to the identified beneficiaries in the Goindwal Sahib constituency. The amount will be credited directly to the bank accounts of the women, ensuring swift delivery of the benefit.
Chief Minister Mann reiterated that the initiative reflects the government's commitment to women's welfare and rural development. He urged the recipients to use the funds responsibly and encouraged other districts to replicate the model for broader impact.
