Police say a rivalry among classmates motivated the killing of a BCom student in Bengaluru, leading to the arrest of one suspect and detention of three minors.
Bengaluru police are investigating the murder of a Bachelor of Commerce student, alleging that a dispute between classmates triggered the fatal attack. The victim, a young adult enrolled in a local college, was found dead in the city, prompting a swift police response.
According to officials, the motive stemmed from personal rivalry within the academic environment, rather than any broader criminal network. Investigators examined the victim's social circles and identified tensions among fellow students as a key factor.
Law enforcement has now taken one adult suspect into custody while three minors have been detained for further questioning. The arrested individual is being held on charges of murder, and the minors are being treated as co‑accused pending additional evidence.
The case remains under active investigation, with police urging anyone with relevant information to come forward to aid in building a comprehensive charge sheet.
