Citizens' group CJP staged a road blockade in Virar on August 21 demanding urgent repair of pothole‑filled streets, while activist Riya Yadav appealed for the pending case to be withdrawn.

On August 21, members of the civic organization CJP gathered at a major intersection in Virar, Maharashtra, and blocked traffic to highlight the poor condition of local roads. The demonstration, described as a "सड़क सत्याग्रह," aimed to pressure municipal authorities to address the extensive potholes and uneven surfaces that residents have complained about for months.

Protesters carried placards and shouted slogans calling for immediate remedial work, citing safety hazards for commuters and damage to vehicles. The group said that repeated requests to the local civic body have gone unanswered, prompting the decision to stage a direct action on the streets.

Activist Riya Yadav, associated with the same campaign, used the occasion to urge the administration to withdraw a pending legal case that she claims diverts attention from the core issue of road repair. She emphasized that resolving the infrastructure problem should be the priority for officials.

Local officials have not yet issued an official response, but the protest is expected to prompt a review of pending road‑maintenance projects in the area.
