CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke called on political leaders to prioritize improving government school infrastructure before seeking electoral support, highlighting the poor conditions compared to even ministers' pets.

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Centre for Justice and Policy (CJP), addressed a gathering of education activists, urging political parties to focus on upgrading government school infrastructure before launching election campaigns. He pointed out that the current state of many public schools is so poor that even the pets of ministers enjoy better amenities.

Dipke emphasized that quality education is a fundamental right and that neglecting school facilities undermines the future of millions of children. He appealed to citizens to hold elected representatives accountable, insisting that political leaders should be compelled to act on education reforms before they seek votes.

The call comes amid growing criticism of inadequate funding and maintenance in government schools across the country. While no specific policy proposals were outlined, Dipke’s remarks aim to pressure parties to place education at the top of their agendas in the upcoming electoral cycle.

Education experts welcomed the statement, noting that sustained political will is essential for improving teacher training, classroom resources, and basic infrastructure such as toilets and drinking water in schools.

The CJP has pledged to monitor the response of political parties and will mobilize public support if concrete steps are not taken to address the deficiencies in the public education system.
