The Central Industrial Security Force’s Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon 2026 entered Chicalim in Goa today, marking a key stop in the multi‑state coastal ride.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) marked another milestone in its Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon 2026 as the convoy of cyclists rolled into Chicalam, Goa, early this morning. The arrival was witnessed by local officials and a modest crowd of residents lining the coastal road.
Launched earlier this year, the cyclothon is a month‑long, coast‑to‑coast ride that traverses the western shoreline of India, linking major ports and tourist hubs from Gujarat to Karnataka. Organized by CISF, the event aims to promote physical fitness among security personnel, raise awareness of coastal safety, and showcase the nation’s scenic maritime heritage.
For Goa, the stop underscores the state’s growing role as a waypoint in national sporting initiatives. Local authorities coordinated traffic management and provided basic amenities, while volunteers distributed informational pamphlets on marine conservation and disaster preparedness.
The fleet is scheduled to continue its journey southwards tomorrow, heading towards the coastal town of Karwar in Karnataka, before concluding the ride later this month.
