The Central Industrial Security Force confiscated more than 207 tonnes of illegal coal in Jharkhand as part of its Zero Coal Leakage campaign.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) reported the seizure of over 207 tonnes of coal that was being moved illegally in Jharkhand. The haul was intercepted during a routine check carried out under the government's Zero Coal Leakage campaign, which targets illicit mining and transport of coal across the country.

According to CISF officials, the coal was found at a transit point within the state and was immediately taken into custody. The seized material will be handed over to the state revenue department for further investigation and appropriate legal action.

The Zero Coal Leakage drive, launched by the Ministry of Coal, aims to plug the massive losses caused by illegal extraction and diversion of coal. This latest seizure highlights the scale of the problem and the government's resolve to curb it.

State authorities said that additional raids are planned in other vulnerable zones and that the CISF will continue to cooperate closely with local police and mining regulators to prevent further leakage.
