Children in the Punjab town of Jagroan raised anti‑government slogans, citing unspecified grievances, according to Amar Ujala.
Jagroan, a town in Punjab, witnessed a spontaneous protest on Saturday when a group of school‑age children gathered in a public area and shouted slogans against the state and central government. The demonstration was reported by the regional newspaper Amar Ujala, which noted that the youngsters expressed dissatisfaction without detailing the exact issues prompting the chant.
Local authorities were present at the scene, monitoring the gathering to ensure it remained peaceful. No reports of violence or arrests emerged, and the children dispersed after a brief period.
The incident reflects a growing trend of youth engagement in political discourse across the region, although the specific catalyst for this protest remains unclear. Further details are expected as officials and community leaders respond to the concerns raised by the children.
Amar Ujala indicated that the reason behind the slogans is being investigated, and local officials have promised to address any legitimate grievances raised by the community.
The event underscores the importance of dialogue between government bodies and younger citizens, especially in areas where policy decisions directly affect education and daily life.
