In a joint effort with local coffee farmers, the horticulture department has erected environmentally friendly natural fences in Chikkamagaluru and Malnad, strengthening the wildlife corridor and allowing animals to move freely without human conflict.

Chikkamagaluru's horticulture department has expanded the wildlife corridor in the Chikkamagaluru and Malnad regions by installing eco-friendly natural fences.

The new fences are designed to provide safe passage for wildlife, reducing human-animal conflicts and preserving biodiversity in the forested areas.

The project was carried out in partnership with local coffee growers, who supplied materials and manpower, ensuring that the construction aligns with agricultural practices and does not harm coffee plantations.

By strengthening the corridor, the department aims to facilitate the free movement of wildlife across the region, contributing to conservation efforts and supporting the local ecosystem.
