A Chicago-based family has introduced 'Festivo', a new music project that blends traditional Indian festival ragas with contemporary pop sounds.
A family residing in Chicago has unveiled a fresh musical venture called "Festivo," aimed at re‑imagining Indian festivals through a pop‑oriented lens while retaining the classical raga structures that define the celebrations.
The project merges the melodic frameworks of traditional Indian ragas associated with festivals such as Diwali, Holi and Navratri with modern pop arrangements, creating a sound that is both familiar to diaspora audiences and accessible to broader listeners.
According to the creators, the intent behind Festivo is to celebrate cultural heritage in a format that resonates with younger generations, offering a contemporary soundtrack to age‑old rituals.
The family plans to release a series of tracks throughout the year, each aligned with a specific festival, and hopes the music will encourage cross‑cultural appreciation both in the United States and India.
