The Chhattisgarh government has moved forward with its Uniform Civil Code consultation, receiving written inputs from various religious institutions, social representatives and statutory bodies.

The state of Chhattisgarh has taken a significant step in its ongoing Uniform Civil Code (UCC) deliberations by inviting and receiving formal suggestions from a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Religious entities, representing diverse faith communities, submitted their viewpoints alongside social representatives and statutory bodies tasked with overseeing legal reforms.

According to the consultation process, each group was asked to provide written feedback on specific provisions of the proposed UCC draft, highlighting concerns, recommendations and potential impacts on their constituencies. The government has said it will review all inputs before finalising the legislation.

Officials indicated that the collected suggestions will be examined by a committee of legal experts and policymakers to ensure that the final code balances uniformity with respect for India's pluralistic traditions. The consultation is part of the state's effort to align with the national agenda of a Uniform Civil Code while addressing ground‑level sensitivities.
