Six interstate drug traffickers were arrested by Chhattisgarh police, who also seized 88 kilograms of cannabis valued at approximately ₹44 lakh.
Six interstate drug traffickers were taken into custody by the Chhattisgarh Police in a coordinated operation that also resulted in the seizure of 88 kilograms of cannabis. The seized plant material is estimated to be worth about ₹44 lakh.
The arrest was carried out after intelligence indicated that the suspects were involved in the transportation of cannabis across state borders. The police recovered the drugs from a vehicle that was intercepted near a major highway.
A spokesperson for the police said that the operation was part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking in the state. “We are committed to dismantling drug networks that threaten public safety,” the officer added.
The seizure and arrests come at a time when Chhattisgarh authorities have intensified efforts to curb the spread of illicit drugs, especially in rural areas where cultivation and trafficking have been on the rise.
