Chhattisgarh police have busted an inter‑state currency‑doubling racket, detaining seven suspects who hail from Maharashtra, officials said.

Chhattisgarh law‑enforcement agencies announced the seizure of an illegal currency‑doubling operation that operated across state borders. The crackdown resulted in the arrest of seven individuals identified as residents of Maharashtra.

According to a police statement, the suspects were apprehended during a coordinated raid on premises suspected of facilitating the fraudulent scheme. Investigators said the racket promised participants a guaranteed return on deposited money, a classic hallmark of financial fraud.

The police have launched a detailed inquiry to trace the flow of funds and identify any additional accomplices. The arrested persons are currently in custody and will face charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Money‑Laundering Act.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant against similar schemes and to report any suspicious financial offers to the nearest police station.
