The state government has undertaken a large‑scale reshuffle of its Indian Police Service cadre, naming senior officer Pawan Deo as Director General of the Home Guards.

Raipur, Chhattisgarh – The Home Department of the Chhattisgarh government issued an order today effecting a sweeping reshuffle of its Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The circular details the transfer and posting of several senior officers across key districts, aiming to strengthen administrative coordination and law‑enforcement efficiency.

Among the changes, senior IPS officer Pawan Deo has been elevated to the post of Director General of the Home Guards. Deo, who has served in various capacities within the state police, will now oversee the volunteer force that supports civil defence and disaster response.

The reshuffle is part of the government's routine cadre management exercise, intended to bring fresh perspectives to critical policing roles. Officials said the moves will be implemented immediately, with officers reporting to their new assignments within the next few days.
