Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced that Chhattisgarh and its Bastar region are now completely free of Naxal activity.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai declared that Chhattisgarh, including the Bastar belt, has achieved a Naxal‑free status, describing the region as fully safe. He attributed the outcome to sustained security operations and accelerated development programmes aimed at eroding insurgent support.

The announcement was made during a press briefing in the state capital, where the CM highlighted coordinated actions by the state police, central paramilitary forces and local administration that have dismantled remaining Naxal networks.

Government officials said the declaration will be followed by continued vigilance, community outreach and welfare schemes to prevent any resurgence of extremist activity.

Security analysts cautioned that while the claim marks a significant milestone, isolated incidents could still surface, underscoring the need for ongoing monitoring and rapid response mechanisms.
