Chhattisgarh conducts flood‑disaster mock drills in all 33 districts

Chhattisgarh's disaster management authority, in collaboration with district officials, launched a series of mock drills across the state's 33 districts to simulate flood scenarios. The exercises were designed to evaluate the coordination between police, fire services, health teams and local administration during a potential flood emergency.

Participants practiced evacuation procedures, deployment of rescue equipment and real‑time communication protocols. The drills also involved community volunteers to assess public awareness and response to early warning alerts.

State officials said the exercise is part of a broader preparedness plan aimed at minimizing loss of life and property during the monsoon season, which frequently brings heavy rains and river swelling to the region.
