An archaeological site in Chhattisgarh has moved a step closer to being inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List, according to recent developments.
The Indian Express reported that an archaeological site located in Chhattisgarh has progressed in the UNESCO nomination process, bringing it nearer to possible inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Officials and heritage experts in the state have been working on documentation and conservation measures to meet the criteria set by UNESCO for such recognition.
If the site ultimately gains World Heritage status, it is expected to receive greater international attention, which could support tourism growth and aid preservation efforts.
