The Chhattisgarh government has sanctioned ₹21.81 crore to upgrade the Nandghat-Mungeli stretch into a four-lane highway, aiming to improve connectivity between the districts.

The Chhattisgarh government announced today that it has cleared ₹21.81 crore for the four-laning of the Nandghat‑Mungeli road, a key link between the districts of Nandghat and Mungeli.

The 35‑kilometre stretch, which currently consists of a single lane, will be expanded to accommodate two lanes in each direction. The project is expected to reduce travel time and improve safety for commuters and freight traffic.

Transport officials said the upgraded road will facilitate smoother movement of goods to the state’s industrial hubs and support local economies by improving access to markets and services.

Work is slated to begin in the coming months, with a projected completion timeline of 18 months, subject to land acquisition and environmental clearances.
