Senior official Saini says the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement will open new opportunities for Haryana’s textile, gem and engineering sectors in the United Kingdom.

Senior official Saini told The Times of India that the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is set to give a significant lift to Haryana’s export basket, particularly in textiles, gems and engineering products, when targeting the United Kingdom market.
The agreement, which aims to reduce trade barriers and streamline customs procedures, is expected to provide Haryana‑based manufacturers easier access to British buyers, enhancing competitiveness without the need for extensive tariff adjustments.
Industry analysts note that Haryana’s textile clusters, gemstone cutting units and engineering firms have long sought broader European exposure; the UK market, with its high‑value demand, could translate into higher order volumes and diversification of client bases.
Saini added that state authorities are preparing outreach programmes and compliance support to help exporters meet UK standards, signalling a coordinated effort to translate the trade framework into tangible business growth.
