CEO Arrested in Ranchi Over Rs 250 Crore Insurance Fraud

Police in Ranchi have detained the chief executive of a firm accused of orchestrating a Rs 250 crore insurance scam, with 26 related cases lodged across Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar.
Ranchi police arrested the chief executive of a company alleged to have masterminded an insurance fraud totaling approximately Rs 250 crore. The arrest was carried out at the police headquarters after investigators linked the executive to multiple fraudulent insurance policies across several states.
The fraud, which reportedly involved the issuance of bogus policies and the siphoning of premiums, has prompted law enforcement agencies in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar to file a total of 26 criminal cases. Authorities say the scheme exploited loopholes in the insurance sector to defraud both insurers and policyholders.
Senior police officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that the arrested CEO will be produced before a court in the coming days. They added that additional arrests may follow as the probe uncovers more participants in the network.
