The Indian government has approved ₹1,419 crore to fund the construction of the Qadian–Beas railway line in Punjab, a project aimed at improving connectivity in the region.
The Ministry of Railways announced today that it has sanctioned ₹1,419 crore for the Qadian–Beas railway line project in Punjab.
The new line will link the town of Qadian with the city of Beas, covering a distance of approximately 70 kilometres and passing through several rural districts.
Funding will be used for land acquisition, track laying, signalling and station construction, with the project expected to be completed in four years.
Officials say the line will boost trade, ease travel for commuters and support the state's economic development plans.
